Nature Photography Discussion Group Planning Meetings

The intended purpose for these groups is to present an informal forum for the educational and entertainment aspects of nature photography. We try to determine what the interests and desires of the participants are and how we can best address them in these forums.

Participants are encouraged to bring images or other materials for discussion and/or critique. The topics for an evening are not defined and are not limited to nature photography and technique. Questions about equipment, sharing of places to go for photography, and “show and tell” can all be part of these wide-ranging discussions.

We currently have two discussion groups:
The Metro East Discussion Group is led by Mike Prokosch (651 429-6750). Please send your e-mail address to mjprokosch1@comcast.net in order to receive notification of the meeting location, date and time. A laptop computer and a projector are available at all of the meetings. Presently this group meets the fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m. usually in a Maplewood or Roseville library. The location will be moved due to availability of space on any given month.

The Metro West Discussion Group is led by Don Nadreau. Meetings are generally in one of the Hennepin County Libraries from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (drop in any time). Specific location and time information is sent via the club’s Yahoo group before each meeting. Bring any topic you wish to discuss and any images you would like to share and get feedback about. If you bring image(s), bring them on a thumb drive as a jpeg (with the same parameters as the monthly salon). This is a good way to meet folks and get a feel for how the salons work and what the judges generally look for! Any questions, drop Don an email at don.nadreau@gmail.com.
